The male vocal ensemble Chanticleer is applauded around the world as “an orchestra of voices” for its wide-ranging repertoire and dazzling virtuosity. The group’s repertoire, rooted in the renaissance, has expanded since its founding in 1978 to include classical, gospel, jazz, popular music and new works. The group is named for Chanticleer, the “clear singing” rooster in Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.
